Safety, choice and respect

Safeguarding
and support.

Happyish offers informal, trauma-informed digital mentoring. Your safety, choices and boundaries matter throughout.

What mentoring is — and isn’t

Mentoring is practical, person-led support with digital tasks and confidence. It is not psychotherapy, counselling, a crisis response or a substitute for specialist support. You decide what to work on, what to share and when to pause or stop. You do not need to explain your personal history.

How we approach safety

We aim to work in an informal, trauma-informed way, with attention to safety, trust, choice and collaboration. Meetings are agreed in advance and can take place by Zoom, telephone or, by arrangement, through a community organisation or visit. You can tell us what communication or access adjustments would help.

Karl is undertaking a nine-week safeguarding course. Where a concern needs specialist guidance or signposting, he can seek support through his counsellor and psychotherapist connections and community partners. Happyish does not present this as a clinical service.

If you have a concern

If you want to raise a concern about a mentoring interaction, contact Karl at aha@happyish.org.uk or call 07731 384953. Please keep an initial message brief and do not include sensitive personal details unless they are needed. Email and telephone are not an emergency or confidential safeguarding reporting service.

If someone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999. For non-urgent specialist help, we can discuss an appropriate service and support you to make contact. Information is not shared casually; if there is a serious safety concern, we may need to seek appropriate help.

Current stage

Happyish is currently operated by HAPPYISH LTD. We are developing our written operational arrangements as the mentoring service takes shape. This page explains our current approach and boundaries; it is not a claim that every formal safeguarding procedure or partner agreement is already in place.

For details about information you choose to share, see our privacy notice. For urgent help, see our urgent support page. For ordinary mentoring enquiries, see Need a Hand.
