Real life, real tasks
Bring the thing
you’re stuck on.
Explore technology. Discover what’s possible. Free, one-to-one mentoring starts with something that interests or matters to you. Ask questions, try ideas and discover how technology and AI could help, with a patient person alongside you. Confidence can grow through doing. Across Dorset, by Zoom, telephone and visits by arrangement.
Need help getting connected?
A suitable phone or laptop, affordable data and a usable connection are part of digital inclusion. We can help you understand what you need, use the device you have and identify local routes to device or connectivity support. Equipment or funding is not promised.

What you might bring
An old phone, an unreliable connection, a device that is difficult to use or uncertainty about the cost of getting online.
What we’d do together
We look at the task you want to do, what you already have and what is getting in the way. We can explore accessibility settings and help you prepare an enquiry to a local service about device or data support.
What you could take away
A clearer device or connectivity plan and a practical next step, rather than another unexplained link.
Want to feel more confident with technology?
Patient help using phones, laptops, email and everyday digital tools. Neurodivergent-friendly support works around executive-function, sensory and organisational difficulties: shorter steps, repetition, quieter communication and a pace agreed with you.

What you might bring
An unfamiliar app, a task you avoid or a setting that makes your device harder to use.
What we’d do together
Choose one task. We demonstrate, practise with you and help you try it independently. We can reduce distractions, repeat steps or agree a reminder in a format that suits you. Tell us what helps; you do not need to disclose a diagnosis.
What you could take away
A task you understand better and can repeat with less support.
Stuck on forms, emails or online services?
We help you understand instructions and actually work through forms, accounts, appointments, emails and public-service systems. Accessibility and fear of getting something wrong can make these tasks harder. You stay in control of your information and decisions.

What you might bring
A confusing form, an account you cannot access, an appointment system or an email you cannot find the words for.
What we’d do together
We work through one step at a time, organise what is needed and help you prepare your response. You enter private details yourself. We explain where specialist advice is needed and can help prepare the next conversation.
What you could take away
A completed step, a clearer next action and more confidence navigating the same system again.
Taking a step towards work?
Personalised employment support for the digital parts of moving towards, entering, staying and progressing in work. We can work on CVs, job searches, applications, interview preparation and workplace technology, including returning after illness, disability or a long period away.
See an example & next steps
What you might bring
A job opportunity, an unfinished CV, an interview you want to prepare for or a digital task that is difficult at work.
What we’d do together
We agree a realistic goal and break it down. That could mean completing an application, rehearsing an interview answer or practising workplace software. Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions can discuss adjustments and support needs at their own pace.
What you could take away
A practical work-readiness step and a skill you can use again. We cannot promise a job or decide when you are ready to work.
Want digital life to feel more manageable?
Documents, email, accounts, calendars and reminders can become overwhelming. We help build a small routine around your needs, supporting recovery and rebuilding, confidence, structure and independence after difficult periods.

What you might bring
Missed appointments, files you cannot find, a crowded inbox or several tasks that feel impossible to start.
What we’d do together
Choose one manageable problem. We practise a simple folder, calendar or reminder routine and consider assistive tools. We can also practise recognising suspicious messages and protecting accounts without taking over your passwords.
What you could take away
A routine that works for you, a safer way to use online systems and less reliance on someone else.
Could AI make this easier?
You do not need to understand AI to find it useful. With human support, explore safe use of AI for planning, organising thoughts, writing, learning, understanding information and breaking tasks down. AI is optional and supports the person; it does not replace mentoring.
See an example & next steps
What you might bring
An instruction you want explained, an email to draft or a task that feels too large. Start with a fictional example instead of private information.
What we’d do together
We try a useful prompt, check the result and discuss mistakes, bias and uncertainty. We leave passwords and sensitive information out. We also notice when repeated prompting is adding confusion rather than clarity. You can disagree with the answer, choose a different tool or stop. You decide whether it helps and what, if anything, to use.
What you could take away
A way to use AI thoughtfully, check its answers and recognise when a human professional is needed.
More than another number or website.
One-to-one mentoring starts with the problem you actually have, rather than a fixed course. Where possible, we help complete a step, prepare information or make sense of what another service needs. With your agreement, we can support a warm handover when specialist help is needed.
Our aim is increasing independence: the next time, you can do more for yourself. We’re developing this model with local partnership and evaluation in mind.
Meet our community partner and work with us →The right help matters.
We offer practical mentoring, not specialist treatment or regulated advice. Where medical, safeguarding, legal, debt or emergency support is needed, we help you identify an appropriate next step and a warm handover where possible.
A conversation is a good beginning
You don’t need to have it all worked out.
