What to expect
A little support.
More independence.
Free mentoring, from the first conversation to doing more yourself. We support people across Dorset by Zoom with your camera on or off, by telephone or with visits by arrangement. Screen sharing is optional. Here’s how we work together.
-
Step 01
Have a chat
Call us or email to arrange a first conversation. We can talk by telephone, on Zoom with your camera on or off, or meet for a coffee at an agreed local place. We’ll discuss what works for you.
Tell us what’s on your mind or what you’re stuck on. You don’t need a clear plan, technical knowledge or a diagnosis. Share only what you want to.
Connection Before Direction. No commitment to sessions.
-
Step 02
Choose a starting point
What would you like to learn or achieve? It could be exploring Office or other software, trying AI, designing a CV, preparing a job application or learning an everyday digital skill.
You choose one thing that matters to you. Together, we work out what gets in the way and break it into manageable steps. A step towards work can be your goal, if that’s what you want.
Your starting point. Your priorities.
-
Step 03
Walk through it together
We work with the actual task you brought. We explain and demonstrate, then you try with support. Ask for another explanation, repeat a step or take a break whenever you need to.
On Zoom, screen sharing is optional. AI is optional too: if it could help, we try it together, check the answer and keep your own judgement and decisions in the picture.
Practical help, with a person alongside you.
-
Step 04
Continuity Without Compliance
You can get back in touch, revisit something we worked through, or pause and return with a different goal. You do not have to explain a gap or stick to an old plan. When you return, we agree what would help now and the next available session.
Proposed future options include your own optional AI agent, connected with us if you choose, and a peer-support group. You would control what is remembered and shared, with memory you can see, correct or remove. Goals would be reconfirmed with you.
Continuity on your terms. Remembering without obligation.
At a pace that works for you
A small beginning.
Conversations and mentoring are free. We agree the length and frequency of sessions with you, including shorter steps, breaks and repetition. You can pause or stop; there is no requirement to complete a fixed course.
Support can be by Zoom, with your camera on or off and screen sharing when useful, or talk by telephone. Meeting for a coffee somewhere you feel comfortable is another option. We can also work one-to-one with individuals in person, including visiting charities to support people there. You don’t have to start with an in-person meeting. Timing, format and availability will be discussed with you rather than assumed. Our Poole office at 118 High Street, Poole, BH15 1DF is coming soon, in partnership with Waste Not Want Not Poole. Office visits will be by arrangement once it opens. Returning is welcome, but an immediate appointment cannot be promised.
Talk about what would work for you ↗Progress you can recognise.
At the start, we agree a task and what being able to do more yourself would look like. During support, we review what is easier, what still gets in the way and which adjustments help. Progress can also mean asking for another explanation, questioning an AI answer or deciding that a tool is not useful to you. Pausing is not a failure.
For a work-related goal, progress might be finding a suitable opportunity, completing an application, preparing for an interview or handling a digital task at work.
The proposed pilot would record starting points, task completion and changes in confidence, with an agreed follow-up to understand what lasts. Outcomes and feedback would inform changes to the model.
A conversation is a good beginning
You don’t need to have it all worked out.
Tell us what you’re trying to do. We’ll work out the next step together.
